The school focuses on information systems. Its aim to train
good specialists who can find employment in all sectors
of international business.
As for the Kaliningrad secondary professional
education institutions, that develop dynamically at the
time being and have good prospects, one can mention The
Baltic Information Technical School. The technical school
is accredited by the Supreme Attestation Commission and
is licensed to confer diplomas in each of the following
four specializations by the Education Licensure Commission.
-Automated data processing and control systems
-Computing machinery and automated system software
-Information security
-Means of communication exploitation
The Baltic Information Technical School is located in
the building known in Europe from 1849 as barracks "
Kronprinz". The barracks "Kronprinz" are
among the objects of the historical and cultural inheritance.
The technical school has the following characteristics:
the total area of the school is 3000 sq. m. The technical
school itself is funding the preparation of suitable premises
and has already prepared several large seminar rooms and
2 lecture theatres with a seating capacity of 110.
Much attention is paid to technical equipment to provide
the educational training using the various technology
laboratories. There are 8 specialized rooms in the school.
The technical school is a nonprofit organization. It
faces significant challenges. These include finding the
financial resources. In spite of the fact, the school
is funding the high-quality technical equipment. In 2005
the electro measurement laboratory was put into operation.
The technical school provides students with comfortable
classrooms and well-organized service establishments.
The aim is not only to provide students with the necessary
knowledge, but also to develop them creatively. The students
take part in scientific work. Besides their studies, they
carry on research in different students' groups and societies.
The teachers help students to develop their abilities
and discover in which field of science and technique they
will employ these abilities. But that is not the only
way to train future specialists. Another way is to create
conditions for future specialists. The technical school
always finds the financial resources to get the necessary
hardware and software.
In 2006 the Baltic Information Technical School and Russian
software developers and hardware vendors signed an agreement
to supply the technical school with software, documentation
and technical support.
The technical school is proud of its staff. The teachers
are helping students develop critical thinking skills.
They teach the students to have different perspective
of things no matter what they study. They have a desire
not only to provide real-world educational experiences
for any level of students but also provide the educational
training that has meaning to the lives of the students.
The school has an up-today library stock. The reference-room
is equipped with computers. Great attention is paid to
developing of the logistics. There are 6 computer rooms
equipped with 150 computers with lightning-fast Internet
connections.
Not all students are going to go on to the college, but
many of them will become information technologists doing
a variety of information management tasks and skills.
